[dropcap]Έ[/dropcap]να από τα σημαντικότερα γεγονότα της εκάστοτε κινηματογραφικής χρονιάς είναι αναμφίβολα το Φεστιβάλ Βενετίας το οποίο διεξάγεται κάθε χρονιά και θεωρείται προπομπός των Oscar.
Ανακοινώθηκαν οι νικητές για το 2018, και μεγάλος νικητής μπορεί να ήταν ο Alfonso Cuaron με το Roma, ωστόσο και ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος με το The Favourite τα πήγε εξαιρετικά:
