[dropcap]Μ[/dropcap]ια πολύ δυσάρεστη είδηση, καθώς έφυγε από τη ζωή σε ηλικία 52 ετών η ηθοποιός Helen McCrory (Peaky Blinders και Harry Potter μεταξύ άλλων) μετά από μάχη με τον καρκίνο.
Την είδηση έκανε γνωστή ο σύζυγος της Helen McCrory, Damian Lewis, που ανακοίνωσε την είδηση στο twitter: «Με θλίψη ανακοινώνω, ότι μετά από μια ηρωική μάχη με τον καρκίνο, η όμορφη και δυνατή γυναίκα, Έλεν ΜακΚρόρι πέθανε ειρηνικά στο σπίτι της, περιτριγυρισμένη από ένα κύμα αγάπης από φίλους και συγγενείς. Πέθανε έτσι ακριβώς όπως ζούσε. Ατρόμητα. Θεέ, την αγαπάμε και ξέρουμε πόσο τυχεροί είμαστε που την έχουμε στη ζωή μας. Πέταξε τώρα, μικρή μου, στον αέρα και σε ευχαριστώ». Ήταν παντρεμένοι από το 2007 και είχαν μια κόρη 14 ετών κι έναν γιο 13 ετών.
Ο ηθοποιός Damian Lewis μιλώντας στην Sunday Times, αναφέρθηκε με πολύ όμορφα λόγια (τα παρουσιάζουμε όπως τα βρήκαμε): “I’ve never known anyone so consciously spread happiness because she made their day better. I’ve never known anyone able to enjoy life as much. Her ability to be in the present and enjoy the moment was inspirational. Nor was she interested in navel-gazing. No real self-interest in self-reflection; she believed in looking out, not in. Which is why she was able to turn her light so brightly on others. Always. Some people believe happiness is a right, some people find happiness difficult. It’s an elusive emotion. Helen believed you choose happiness. Already I miss her. She has shone more brightly in the last months than you would imagine even the brightest star could shine. In life, too, we had to rise to meet her. But her greatest and most exquisite act of bravery and generosity has been to ‘normalise’ her death. She’s shown no fear, no bitterness, no self-pity, only armed us with the courage to go on and insisted that no one be sad, because she is happy. I’m staggered by her. She’s been a meteor in our life.”
Ανέφερε επίσης πως ήταν γεμάτη χιόυμορ ακόμα και στις πιο δύσκολες στιγμές της ζωής της όπως ο καρκίνος, τον προέτρεψε να βρει μετά τον θάνατο της και άλλες γυναίκες να φλερτάρει, ενώ στα παιδιά της είπε να μην στεναχωριούνται γιατί έζησε την ζωή που ήθελε.
Είχε πρωταγωνιστήσει σε τεράστιες επιτυχίες τόσο στη μικρή όσο και στη μεγάλη οθόνη, μεταξύ των οποίων στο Harry Potter, το James Bond (Skyfall) και τη δημοφιλή σειρά Peaky Blinders. Η τελευταία δημόσια εμφάνισή της ήταν στην εκπομπή Good Morning Britain, στις 12 Μαρτίου, μιλώντας για την φιλανθρωπική της δράση.
