[dropcap]A[/dropcap]νακοινώθηκαν λοιπόν υποψηφιότητες των Oscar, σε μια χρονιά που παρά τις περίεργες συνθήκες υπάρχει πολύ μεγάλος ανταγωνισμός, με πολλές ταινίες να ξεχωρίζουν. Η τελετή θα γίνει στις 25 Απριλίου.
Ωστόσο φαίνεται πως σε πολλούς θεατές υπάρχει άγνοια για τις ταινίες που διαγωνίζονται σε αυτή, καθώς σύμφωνα με έρευνα από το Variety από την Guts + Data σε 1500 που είναι fan του σινεμά αλλά και εγγεγραμμένοι σε streaming υπηρεσίες, δεν τις πολυξέρουν και ούτε τους ενδιαφέρουν τόσο. Συγκεκριμένα οι περισσότεροι ξέρουν τα Judas and the Black Messiah, The Trial of the Chicago 7 και Nomadland, ενώ λιγότερο αναγνωρίσιμες είναι οι The Sound of Metal και Mank.
