Τα πράγματα αλλάζουν για την DC, μιας και υπάρχει νέο πλάνο με ταινίες και σειρές, στην οποία όπως λέγεται θα έχει κομβικό ρόλο η ταινία Flash που θα κάνει ουσιαστικά ένα ολικό reset και θα αποτελεί συνδετικό κρίκο, για όσα θα ακολουθήσουν. Όπως ανακοίνωσε ο James Gunn, η ταινία Shazam, θα οδηγήσει στo Flash, που μετά το reset θα πάει στο Blue Beetle και μετά πάει λέγοντας. Οι πρώτες κριτικές είναι μεν θετικές, ωστοσο η βαθμολογία στο Rotten Tomatoes είναι στο 71% και ακολουθούν οι πρώτες εντυπώσεις από το site.

Συν τοις άλλοις, όπως ανέφερε πριν λίγο καιρό το Variety, παρά τα όσα προβλήματα έχουν δημιουργηθεί το τελευταίο διάστημα με τον ηθοποιό, η Warner Bros. Discovery θέλει να συνεχίσει να δουλεύει με τον Miller, αρκεί εκείνος να δείξει έτοιμος να αλλάξει συμπεριφορά και να επανέλθει μετά τα πρόσφατα συμβάντα. Πριν μερικούς μήνες έκανε reshoots, ενώ παράλληλα είναι σχεδόν σίγουρο και το sequel, στο οποίο (όταν και αν γίνει) δεν υπάρχει περίπτωση να αντικατασταθεί ο Ezra Miller. Aυτό είπε ο σκηνοθέτης Andy Muschietti, που θεωρεί πως δεν μπορεί να παίξει κάποιος καλύτερα τον ρόλο από εκείνον, ενώ ανέφερε πως έδωσε τα πάντα στον ρόλο και ήταν λες και δημιουργήθηκε αποκλειστικά για εκείνον.
Aποκαλύφθηκε μάλιστα πως η ταινία θα κοστίσει 220 εκ. δολάρια, σύμφωνα με τον παραγωγό Paul Austerberry. Αυτό την κατατάσσει ακόμα πιο ψηλά από τα Wonder Woman 1984 και Black Adam (αμφότερες στα 200 εκ. δολάρια), αλλά λίγο πιο κάτω από τα Man of Steel ($225 εκ. δολάρια) και μόνο οι Batman v. Superman και το ταλαιπωρημένο Justice League κόστισαν περισσότερα, με 263 εκ. και 300 εκ. δολάρια, αντίστοιχα.
Σύμφωνα με τα λεγόμενα ενός insider, υπάλληλος της Warner πήγε με μια κόπια στο σπίτι του Tom Cruise και έμεινε μέχρι ο ηθοποιός να δει την ταινία και αργότερα την επέστρεψε με ασφάλεια στο στούντιο. Όπως αναφέρεται, ο Cruise ξετρελάθηκε και επικοινώνησε με τον σκηνοθέτη της ταινίας, Andy Muschietti, για να του πει πόσο ενθουσιασμένος ήταν. Όπως δήλωσαν insiders, ο ηθοποιός είπε πως το Flash έχει όλα όσα περιμένει κάποιος από μια ταινία και είναι αυτό που χρειάζεται τώρα το σινεμά.
Aπό κει και πέρα, θα δούμε την Sasha Calle ως Supergirl του DCEU που θα κάνει το ντεμπούτο της στην ταινία, η Ισπανίδα Maribel Verdu θα υποδυθεί την μητέρα του πρωταγωνιστή, ενώ ο Ron Livingston τον πατέρα, ενώ έχει επιβεβαιωθεί και ο Michael Keaton ξανά ως Batman.
H ταινία θα έχει στοιχεία Flashpoint, με διαφορετικό τρόπο από αυτόν που νομίζουν οι fans, όπως είπε ο Andy Muschietti και θα είναι μια ιστορία με time travel που ο Flash θέλει να σώσει την μητέρα του. Πίσω από τις κάμερες όπως αναφέραμε θα είναι ο σκηνοθέτης του IT, Andy Muschietti (μετά τις αποχωρήσεις των Seth Grahame-Smith και John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein), ενώ η σεναριογράφος του Bumblebee Christina Hodson θα γράψει την ταινία.
