[dropcap]T[/dropcap]o Star Trek χωρίς αμφιβολία μια από τις πιο θρυλικές σειρές και η σειρά Discovery, θα προσθέσει τους πρώτους trangender και non binary χαρακτήρες. Συγκεκριμένα ο Ian Alexander θα κάνει τον Gray, που είναι Transgender χαρακτήρας με το όνομα Gray και Blu del Barrio τον non binary με το όνομα Adira.
Το Star Trek: Discovery έχει δυνατά ονόματα όπως οι Sonequa Martin-Green στον ρόλο της Sasha Williams στο The Walking Dead, Michelle Yeoh (στο ρόλο της Captain Georgiou του Starship Shenzhou), Anthony Rapp (Lt. Stamets, αστρομυκητολόγος του Starfleet), Doug Jones, Chris Obi, Shazad Latif, Mary Chieffo ως Klingon.
Η νέα σειρά Star Trek: Discovery τοποθετείται ανάμεσα στα “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country” και “Star Trek”, showrunner είναι ο Akiva Goldsman, ενώ το σενάριο είναι του Nicholas Meyer.
