[dropcap]Τ[/dropcap]ο Blade ήταν μια από τις ευχάριστες εκπλήξεις της δεκαετίας του ’90 στο είδος του και όχι μόνο, καθότι ο ήρωας της Marvel μεταφέρθηκε με εντυπωσιακό τρόπο στην μεγάλη οθόνη και καθιερώνοντας τον Wesley Snipes στον ρόλο.
Τo franchise να έληξε άδοξα με την κακή σχέση του Wesley Snipes με τους παραγωγούς στο Blade Trinity (2004) και ενώ πολλές φορές συζητήθηκε μήπως επιστρέψει ο Wesley Snipes επιβεβαιώθηκαν οι φήμες για νέα ταινία με διαφορετικό πρωταγωνιστή τον δημοφιλή ήρωα.
Η Marvel ανακοίνωσε και επίσημα πως θα γίνει νέα ταινία Blade και ο πρωταγωνιστής της θα είναι ο Mahershala Ali. Είναι μαζί με την Phase 4 της Μarvel (ή τουλάχιστον έτσι παρουσιάστηκε), ωστόσο ακόμα δεν γνωρίζουμε ημερομηνία και περισσότερες λεπτομέρειες.
Ο Wesley Snipes είναι θετικός σε αυτό το ενδεχόμενο, δήλωσε πως ναι μεν είναι για τους fans μια έκπληξη, αλλά με σεβασμό και τιμή στην μνήμη του Stan Lee, το crew της Marvel και στον νέο Blade τον οποίο θαυμάζει σαν ηθοποιό, ζήτησε να δώσουν μια ευκαιρία.
Οι αυθεντικές δηλώσεις του Snipes στο Comicbook είναι οι εξής: “To all the DAYWALKERS losing their minds right now, chillaaxx. Although the news comes as a surprise, it’s ALL good.
